The Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistant is a recognised qualification for those who would like to work with learners in a small group, in addition to supporting pupils with special educational needs within a classroom environment. This is a higher level Teaching assistant course for those working in the education and training sector and would like to advance their career. This course offers guidelines for those who would like to manage a class room independently as a Teaching Assistant
Good reading & writing skills in English
Must be working within a school as a teaching assistant
Must be able to demonstrate skills in Maths and English at Level 2
Students should have access to a computer and basic IT skills
The qualification will be assessed through a combination of written essays, a portfolio of evidence and observation of occupational competence. To gain the level 4 higher-level teaching assistant qualification, you will be required to complete a 50-hour placement within a school setting . The work experience can be paid or voluntary and it can take place in an infant, primary or secondary school.
We deliver courses through online and blended learning. You may study entirely at your own pace and complete this course in 12 to 18 weeks via distance learning.
On completion Successful learners can progress to our Level 4 Certificate and the Level 5 Diploma.
